Description

These simple flatbreads are quick and easy to make, perfect for a variety of meals and snacks. Enjoy them with your favorite dips, as a wrap, or alongside your main dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for cooking)

Instructions

1. Combine the flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl.

2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.

3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rest for 30 minutes.

5. After resting, divide the dough into 6-8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball. Roll each ball into a flat circle, about 1/4-inch thick, on a lightly floured surface.

6. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with olive oil. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and puffed up. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning.

7. Serve the flatbreads warm. You can enjoy the flatbreads independently or use them as a base for various toppings and dips.
